For my Urban Landscapes Photography Unit, I am going to take photos of the pop-up ice skating rinks in Canary Wharf at different times of the day to get a range of photos including ones with natural light and some with artificial light, giving my photos a wide variety and making them more interesting. The theme of my photos is ' Cities At Work' and this will be represented in various ways; 1) in the evening the lights of the office buildings will be on and so 'work' in the conventional sense is being shown, 2) during all times of the day, people will be working at the ice rink, also showing a conventional way of 'work', 3) showing how the customers and 'working' to be good at ice skating.
I may also go to Somerset House to take the same sort of photos, however this is then incorporating 'old and new', and Somerset house was built 1547 and the new pop-up ice rink contrasts with this setting of the old house.
I might also look at how the ice rink is quiet and the ice is wet and smooth in the morning compared to busy at night.
