On Monday the 30th of September, as a class we went to an urban park in Selhurst to take some photos. I used Adobe Lightroom to edit some of my photos, and Tilly gave me her opinions on my pictures. To enlarge the photos, click on them.

These are the thoughts and ideas of Tilly. She said that she liked how the metal bar stretches right across the whole photo as it draws the viewers eyes to it. She said that the contrasts of the bright colours separate the photo into sections (e.g. the brown weeds and the green grass). It has interesting shapes and well represents an urban landscape because it looks very rough. However she said that the grass looks too green and looks slightly unrealistic.

In Lightroom, I didn't change much to this photo because I liked the original however I wanted the sign to be brighter. I increased the clarity, the vibrance and the saturation, by doing this I enhanced the yellow in the sign.
Tilly said that this photo has been framed well with a clear focus on the sign. The bars reinforce the idea of danger and yet also safety because you are being protected by the bars. The bright colours make the sign stand out. To improve this, she said I could show more of the bars to show they are actually bars, and also, maybe I could put the sign in the centre instead of towards the bottom.

I wanted to focus the graffiti and make the wall look like a leading line. I felt this photo was a bit dark so in Lightroom I wanted to brighten it.
In Lightroom I increased the clarity to +62 to make the photo look sharp. I also increased the vibrance to make it brighter but I also decreased the saturation only slightly, to give this picture a slight edge to it. I felt the door at the back was a little too dark, so I decreased the 'darks' so that it was a little brighter.
Tilly said that she liked how the wall was a leading line to the door, and how I haven't tried to not focus on the graffiti. She also said that she liked how the grass in the background looks like it is a reflection of the trees. To improve it, she said maybe I could show more of the surroundings because it looks like I have cut something out that was next to the door.
If i went back to this place again, I think instead of turning to the left, I would go down the right side of the path because when we went down the left path there was more grass and trees and less urban things to take photos of.
