Edits

In this edit, I wanted to make it completely different to the original photograph. I used the adjustment brush to bring down the exposure on in the sky, to make it look dark and sinister. I then used the brush again take down the clarity on the clouds, but I put up the clarity on the building and the ice rink. I wanted the to get a clearer reflection of Somerset House on the ice.

In this edit, I used the adjustment brush to make the reflection in the ice, and the word 'SKATE' clearer. I also brought up the highlights to make to clouds brighter and make it look like the photo was taken early in the morning.

In this edit, I used the adjustment brush to bring up the clarity on certain areas. I used it on the top of the Pavilion and where the lights are. I also brought up the clarity on the ice to get a better reflection.

I bought down the dark colours in the photo to make them sharper. I also made the white of the ice brighter. I also used the adjustment brush to bring down the clarity on the blurred people to make it look more like they are moving.

I liked this photo because I thought I'd framed it well, but I wanted to edit it because I wanted the sculpture that I used as the frame, to be darker. I brought down the shadow amount, and increased the clarity on the building and the ice, by using the adjustment brush. I also increased the yellow hue on the trees to make them brighter.

I used the adjustment brush to increase the exposure on the ice. I increased the yellow and green hues to make the leaves stand out, but I bought down the saturation amount to make them look realistic.

I increased the vibrance to +74. I did this because I changed the focus of the image on my camera, so as to get the effect of the lights, so I added more vibrance to not loose out on the colours of the image. I also experimented with using the curving tone in Photoshop.

The first thing I did in this edit was to cut out some of the people on the left hand side of the image. As this project isn't about people, I didn't want them to be the main focus. Having said that, I did want to keep the man with the 'Ice Rink' uniform on, because that represents work. I used the adjustment brush to increase clarity and sharpness of the uniform and the pavilion lights. I then experimented with the hues so as to make the uniform colours stand out more than in the original photograph.

I used the adjustment brush to increase the clarity on the office building and the reflection of the building on the dome. I then experimented with the hues by increasing certain colours to make the leaves on the tress and the blue of the persons jacket more visible.
